【摘要】Regional disparities in gross domestic product (GDP) per capita and labour utilization have widened in Slovenia since 1999. However, regional gaps in per capita household disposable income have declined because of higher social transfers to the poorest regions, inter-regional commuting and other factors. Econometric analysis shows that there is heterogeneity in steady-states across regions, and regional growth in per capita GDP and labour productivity are converging to these region-specific steady-states. Time-series approach to convergence confirms stochastic trend convergence in both indicators for several regions. Labour productivity growth has been driven by capital deepening and growing importance of total factor productivity (TFP) improvement.
